Living a healthy life

As both a martial art and sport, Taekwondo is a great form of exercise and a good way to improve your fitness. However there are a lot of things you can do to to improve your health and live a healthier lifestyle outside of training. All advice offered here is general health advice and for more detailed help you should always consult a professional!


Top Tips

  • Aim for at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day
  • Cut back on saturated fats and sugar by cutting back on foods like cake, biscuits and cream.
  • Too much sugar in our diets can be bad for health so watch out for foods and drinks high in sugar such as fizzy drinks and chocolate.
  • Drink plenty of water and aim for 6-8 glasses a day.
  • Increase the amount of activity you have in your daily routine. This doesn't necessarily mean hours in a gym or at Taekwondo but could involve walking more or simple exercises.
